Szanowni Czytelnicy!

Czasopismo „Klio” to kwartalnik publikowany przez Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu. Na jego łamach przeczytać można artykuły poświęcone historii polskiej i powszechnej. Czasopismo ukazuje się od 2001 roku i stanowi kontynuację wydawanych niesystematycznie „Acta Universitatis Nicolai Copernici. Seria: Historia”.

Na stronie internetowej, która stanowi uzupełnienie treści zamieszczanych w czasopiśmie, zgromadziliśmy m.in. biogramy autorów, którzy do tej pory publikowali w „Klio”, spis numerów czasopisma wraz z wykazem artykułów oraz ich streszczeniami  w języku polskim i angielskim.

Zawartość strony uzupełnia zakładka „Wydarzenia”/"Call For Papers", w której prezentowane będą nadsyłane przez Czytelników informacje dotyczące wartych uwagi  konferencji, seminariów oraz sesji naukowych.

Jednocześnie informujemy, że „Klio” jest jednym z czasopism, którym Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego przyznało 9 punktów za przedstawiane publikacje. Aktualna lista punktowanych czasopism naukowych znajduje się na stronie internetowej Ministerstwa. Pragniemy tym samym podziękować Autorom dotychczas prezentującym na łamach „Klio” wyniki swoich badań i jednocześnie zachęcić Wszystkich Państwa do współpracy.

Dear Readers!

The first issue of “Klio” was published in November 2001. It was launched as a continuation of “Acta Universitatis Nicolai Copernici. Seria: Historia”, a journal that Nicolaus Copernicus University had published before. The change was necessary to face the needs of the contemporary milieu of professional historians in Torun.

An internet site became a natural supplement of the publishing. The site makes the information about “Klio”’s issues (i.e. comprehensive table of contents, summaries) and authors (biographical entries), who contributed to the Journal, accessible to the wide range of scholars.

The section “Call For Papers”/”Wydarzenia” is meant to be a communication and information service for historians. It publishes specialized academic news about conferences, scientific projects, summer schools etc. We encourage conference organizers or those who have information about forthcoming, promotion worthy events, to notify us about them.

We also invite the scholarly community to join us in a dialogue and exchange of ideas on the broad range of questions preoccupying the historical sciences today. We trust that the electronic version of “Klio” will serve these purposes and also expand the range of the contributions we receive. Last but not least, we want to inform You that “Klio” is granted with 9 points by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
